Here it is, gang; my new death-metal, uber-gain, mega stack:

Wattage didn't want to mess with it, so he sent it to me. Upon examination, I immediately named it "Uncle Fungus" (my amps' names aren't as secksie as B_Bent's). I plan to clean it up, make a few mods to improve safety and reliablilty, and maybe see if I can stick a real speaker in there.

Man, I had the best little 5 watt Silvertone 9075, I bought it for $20 at a junk shop with original tubes and speaker. I wish I had never sold it! Congrats man!

Two Tele's.

It's a Sears 5XL, though the model 1420 number on the chassis reeks of Silvertone. Hard to tell from the picture, but it's 8 feet tall and put out 180 watts.

ha ha ha ha..... i had a pignose amp almost that big too.... too much power for me so i got a Rockman

Nice little score Rich..... i assume it's tube.... i have an old sears amp in the basement but it's solid state... early 70's thing i think...

Yeah it's tubes, the W354 50C5 12AU6 set normally found in cheap tabletop radios from the 60's. If the "5" in the model number was intended to convey the output power, I think Sears was stretching the truth a bit. It'll probably do 3 watts. Not exactly a "clean headroom" kinda amp.
