Re: Aw God dammit ...
I'll never understand why a company as big as PRS can't manage to reverse the tooling, or whatever they have to do, to do a few large batches of lefty guitars each year.
Any idea what the percentage of lefty guitarists and bassists is?
It has always been a complete mystery to me why they stopped (and also why it took them so long to make lefty models in the first place).
Making a left-handed guitar with CNC machines couldn't be simpler: create a mirror image of your pattern, and you're done.
Every major brand makes at least one or two lefty models. Gretsch, who hand builds hollow-body guitars fer chrissakes has plenty of lefty models. You have to wait a while to get one, but they can be had. Gibson makes lots of lefties both production line and custom shop, even hollow and semi-hollow guitars. There is a Gretsch Duo Jet and a Gibson ES-335, both left-handed, sitting in my local shop. Those are nice, hand-crafted guitars, and if those guys can do it I don't see why PRS can't.
I don't get why Paul thinks he's so special. Did a lefty **** his wife or something?
I wouldn't give half a crap if this were Ibanez, Schecter, Dean, or some other brand I don't care about, but I've wanted a PRS since I was 14.
