Awesome guitarist clips

Re: Awesome guitarist clips

I wouldn't put him in the "awesome" category, personally, but there were some cool bits.

Re: Awesome guitarist clips

I don't really think you can do much on guitar that someone hasn't already done, but I think he would slay tons of guitarists that are a household name. I think it would be ludacris not to rate him in the awesome category.

Well too much wank and too little music....and I do not mind a note or two too many.
I rather listen to some old Colin James.
Technically good, but that is not the same as awesome.
Dunno did not like the feel of his playing...but that is just a matter of different taste.

Re: Awesome guitarist clips

I'm not going to knock his playing, cause he's definitely better than me, but when did the "blues" become happy?

And one of my pet peeves: TRIM THE STRINGS, MAN!

I don't want to sound too negative, though. He's definitely an excellent guitarist. The RH hammering stuff was cool.

Re: Awesome guitarist clips

I think he is technicaly great. But I didn't like him playing blues. For me blues is for a strong slowhand. And the "lyric" songs were too mellow for my tastes. Anyway, he probabely can make himself a place in music business, only needs to find the right hole.

Same here. His tone is great but..haha..that´s no blues :smack:

Re: Awesome guitarist clips

I really hope to be able to play like that someday..But the key word there is "able" :laugh2:
I really liked the first lilttle section of it tho, quiet very cool IMHO

Re: Awesome guitarist clips

That guy is an awesome shredder, no denying that. But he should either not ever bend a note in his life again or learn how,, LOL. I'd rather sacrifice some of the technique for some taste. No vibrato and the bending skills of a beginner. But nice picking chops for sure.

Re: Awesome guitarist clips

i heard this guy a couple months back, and i keep coming back to the dead man etude video

the guy plays the guitar like a keyboard its nuts

Re: Awesome guitarist clips

flight of the butterfly was very good indeed, very good note choice and feel. This guy has alot of talent.

Re: Awesome guitarist clips

cool but imo the acid test is Blues - the ultimate 'self-expression'

'fast' is NOT equal to 'awesome' IMO

its just fast - its MUCH harder to play something REALLY slow

so logically the SLOWER it is the more 'awesome' it should be

logically - lol

:)

Re: Awesome guitarist clips

I would disagree on that one. "Playing slow is harder" is something people say who can't play fast well. The trick is being convincing at whatever your doing regardless of speed or style. This guy I think is just really good at the fast thing and really BAD at the slow thing,,LOL.

Re: Awesome guitarist clips

It wasn't a slam on you Nick. But I've heard lots of your clips and your "fast" is not really the same thing. I'm talking about technical proficiency which facilitates speed.

Anyone can play fast, my point is that playing fast well is as hard as playing well slow.

Re: Awesome guitarist clips

ok dude - no worries

i think we are generally divided - some older guys tend to like 'slower' & some younger guys 'fast'

i used to like fast - i still do - but playing 'fast' for just playing 'fast' to me gets a tad boring nowadays

anyways i know what you mean my friend - fast can also be very intense & enjoyable when playing & listening

:)

i'm just commenting that fast is not everything

IMO - speed on a guitar is limited to ones physical ability - the technical proficiency which facilitates speed can still be there - its just everyone has a 'top' speed

& yes i agree it is hard to play fast & well

:)
