Title says the gist of it. This is a local business that IME is the best supplier of bodies, necks, and paint jobs out there. They cater to the antique-reproduction crowd (though they do offer non-vintage-correct options, such as mahogany bodies and Floyd routs, and can do many unlisted custom jobs if you call them up). All parts are Fender licensed (no cheating the shapes a 1/4 inch this way or 1/8 inch that way to avoid lawsuits), and very true to old specs. They offer three contours of Strat body ('50's, '60's, and '70's), which not many places offer.
Their prices are already very reasonable, but they are having this 10 percent off sale until the 31st. If you've been holding off on a build for lack of funds, this might be a good time to jump. I just ordered a swamp ash early-style P-Bass body, and it came to $137 shipped. (I'm having it painted by RS.) $11 of that is state sales tax, which you won't have to pay if you aren't in CA. The same thing from Warmoth would be $185 before shipping, and they do not even offer the proper square heel neck pocket as an option. (I have called and asked, and they just won't do it.)
IME, customer service is very good. Whenever I have a question, I get calls or e-mails from Bernie himself. I like a business that has the main guy on site doing the work and interacting with customers himself.
