Bandpass resonant peak of a pickup

Is a guitar pickup a highpass or lowpass Rolloff or bandpass?

Weak pickups/underwound pickups/low output= Higher Resonant peak

This Resonant peak is a Bandpass filter so a pickup can be like a LCR bandpass filter

Impedance is AC opposition and frequency dependant

Since a pickup is LCR its rolling off the highs and lows frequency from the AC impedance and reactance of the LCR network from the coil and number of turns creating a Bandpass filter which has a Resonant peak frequency

Re: Bandpass resonant peak of a pickup

Would putting a "Bandpass" filter with a Variable Resonant frequency in "parallel" with a guitar pickup change the LCR resonannt frequency of the pickup?

Wow , why this man is speaking Chinese ?
Actually Walter it is getting so deep that you will end to be a
Master in Pickup Philosophy at Harvard University . Yo ! :smokin: :smokin:

Re: Bandpass resonant peak of a pickup

Ever heard of that Frank Zappa album?

Something about "shut up and play yer guitar"

Re: Bandpass resonant peak of a pickup

Why does a guitar pickup have a resonant peak if its not a Bandpass filter?

A resonant peak is from a C and L and R ,capacitance,inducatance and resitance form a Resonanct frequency/peak

So why does a guitar pickup have a resonant peak? since it does its a bandpass filter then

Re: Bandpass resonant peak of a pickup

Resonant peok does not immediately mean it´s a bandpass filter, but all bandpass filters have a resonant peak.

So whats the difference then? they both have resonant peak?

The pickup is a bandpass filter

Re: Bandpass resonant peak of a pickup

Can u explain why a guitar pickup has a resonant frequency/peak?

Putting a Variable capacitor in parallel with a pickup can change
its resonant frequency, peak
