Baritone build.

First timer. Thanks for giving me a look!
I am building a baritone based on a alder body, routed like a Tele. I chose this because IMO HBs get bottom heavy and too "bass-y". Current considerations are a Quarter Pound in the neck and a Hot Tele in the bridge.
Will these be compatible? What should I consider further? Am I at least on track?

Baritone for what genre application?

For a non-bassy HB sound tuned low, many have found success with the Dimebucker

Re: Baritone build.

OH, YEAH! Genre.
Want a real funked up, funk machine for R&B. I don't want to be the bass player, but I don't wish to sound exactly Nile Rogers like either.
This is going to be "another" guitar for me. Hence, the build. I have a great Strat and great G&L Bluesboy (Tele). Just wanna try something different and see where it leads.

Re: Baritone build.

I'd say Hot for Tele and QP would be unnecessarily hot for music style you play. That said Hot for Tele is still ok for baritone in general, but QP... I'm not sure. I think Broadcaster and SSL-2 would be better for your application.
