Bass amp problem

Cat In The Hatministrator
While gigging on Friday night, my bass player had some issues with the amp. It's a Warwick BC150. About 3/4 of the way through the gig, the automatic onboard compressor started coming in very heavily and attenuating the overall volume. It had been fine all evening up til then.

Any ideas?

Re: Bass amp problem

Some Peavey bass amps used to come with a self-protection circuit to reduce the possibility of blowing the loudspeaker. Perhaps, the Warwick has similar circuitry?

More likely, however, is that there is a fault within the Compression circuitry. Is it analogue or controlled by an IC chip?

Re: Bass amp problem

I would think it was a bug in the cabinet

Funky bug

Naw probably a loose solder joint in the compressor to pot circuit

Causing a resistor leg to lift when hot
