Just wondering. Are there any popular bass pickups with passive polepieces and bar magnets at the bottom? Where the bars are Alnico?
Looking at my Stingray like pickups they either have Alnico rods or if the manufacturer wants ceramic then it is passive polepieces and a set of ceramic bars. The Neodymium pickups in a Bongo are active rods. Apparently nobody makes ceramic rods.
