Basslines Blackouts

Hi!!
Yesterday i ordered Basslines Blackouts pickups and electronics for my ltd b5e.
But does anyone know if i can make it a 18volts circuit?

It'll certainly function, but I'm pretty sure there isn't as noticeable an effect by making it 18v as with a regular EMG set.

Welcome to the forum.

The wiring instructions for STC-2x-BO and STC-3 EQs and ASB-BO pickups neither recommend nor forbid 18v operation. I have always been happy with 9v.

Thnx for the info then i just have to wait for it.
but do you know where i can find i wiring diagram for the stc-2s-bo so i can studio a little before i get the pickups and electronics :P

Regrettably, the short answer is no.

The nearest thing in the Support section of the main SD website is for the regular STC-2 system. That features pots for volume and balance and a completely different PCB.

If anything, it would be easier to liken the STC-2S-BO schematic to that for an EMG-BTC. Five wires; input, output, +9v, two grounds.

ok will look at those schematics.
because the esp has 5 pots and i figured with the wiring diagram from the pickups that i could have a separate volume control for each pickup what i would like to keep of course to fill in all the pot holes :newbie:

Which exact Active EQ tone control system have you purchased?

The Blackouts for Bass active EQ accessories (black and red packaging) are two-band only, two separate pots or one stacked concentric pot.

For three-band EQ, you need one of the older STC-3 systems. (Yellow and indigo packaging.)

i've ordered the blackout electronics with the 2 separate tone controls but i know that with the pickups you get a 3 pots: 1 for the Neck pu and 1 for the Bridge and 1 master tone

Your idea might work. The upper band control of the Blackouts EQ can be selected to work in one of two possible frequency ranges. If you set yours low, it would work like a High Mid control. With a suitable capacitor, your passive Treble roll off pot would take care of the top end.

For my own tastes, just the upper portion of the BO EQ would suffice. It lifts the growly Fender/Musicman frequencies that I want to hear.

so you select different frequency's wit the electronics?
But what i mean is that i wouldn't have a blend control like the most basses have.
but i don't know if thats possible

When sold individually, the ASB-BO pickups are supplied with two A25k pots. One for volume, one for passive treble roll off once you solder the capacitor into circuit. There is no balance pot in the box.

The frequency selector mini switch is on the PCB of the Blackouts EQ system. It will not be accessible while the instrument is being played.

My comments in post #10 were made on the assumption that your controls would be N Vol, B Vol, 25k passive Treble, STC-2S-BO Hi pot (with PCB), STC-2S-BO Lo pot.

I bought the set so not the individual pickups so yes i have a n volume and a b volume and a master tone pot like the wiring diagram on the site
Shows and that are the pots i want to use and of course the eq set. I'm sorry my technical english is worse :newbie:
