Basslines J neck pickup choice

I'm looking to upgrade the J pickup in an active (2-band) HS 5-string bass I have, and have come down to either the Quarter Pound or the 67mm "vintage sounding" pickup.

67/70 mm:

QP:

I have played the 67/70 mm in a passive jazz, and I really love their tone, but I never played the QP and it's over-wound coil and mid-scooped tone kind of makes me weary.

According to the SD tone chart, the 67mm has
B: 6
M: 8
T: 7

QP has
B: 7
M: 3
T: 6

Anyone play the QP jazz pickup in an active bass? Looking for opinions

Currently, has ceramic magnet pickups.

I'd want to go with a Carvin Bridge pickup for several reasons, SD does not offer a wide-string spaced pickup that matches this bass, and the 5-string MM style pickup SD offers has a different shape than the existing pickup.

The Carvin pickup has alnico V magnets and has a moderate output.

One other thing I worry about is that the QP's "high output" would overpower the bridge pickup when blended together, or sound louder when solo'ed...kind of the bad thing about not getting a matched set...

Try the Quarter Pound. I think it'll match well with the MM pickup. That's the same setup P-Nut uses (311). If you find the QP to be too hot, you can 21-Day it for the 67/70.
