Even with the climbing price of silverface gear (especially the 60's or early 70's pre master volume examples) you'd still be better off price wise getting a Silverface.
If you want something with some modern features that's based in the Bassman camp, the Carr Impala is based on the BF Bassman. It's got a mid control, a master volume, and reverb. But the head is $2400.
That's the only amp I can think of that's based on the Bassman.

Why not one of the Fender 68 Custom series? The "Custom" Channel uses the Bassman tone stack.

the 5f4 tweed bassmans are great with pedals too. There are plenty of very nice clones out there.

Back in '83 or '4 I bought a 100 watt tube Fender bass head and 2X15 cab from someone I knew in H.S. for $100. A buddy of mine used it to play guitar through and thought it sounded fantastic. Eventually it was stolen from his practice space by some smack heads who had rented a space a few doors down. Couldn't prove anything, but the irony, in looking back at it, is that I think it was a '63 or '4 Bassman head. Oh well.

Just buy a SF Bassman head fir a few hundo, drop a little more coin in it for a cap job and a tune up and you'll have an amp that'll last another 40 years.

FWIW, you can't really pick up a 70's Bassman for just a few hundred anymore. Maybe if you hunt for a few months, but they're not sitting around at $300 anymore. Even the late 70's models.

FWIW a pair of late 60s SF Bassman heads just sold for less than 5 hundo shipped, and a pair of Blackfaces just sold for well under $700.
When you start thinking about $800 ballpark for a used Port City Dual 50 (which is a BF Bassman clone w/ a few tweaks) or ballpark a grand for a kit you'd have to build a vintage 68/69 Fender for less than 7 bills sounds like the way to go.
I never said $300, I said a few...I was just making the point that they are still out there is HUGE numbers and are still priced at prices that makes copies and clones seem like a bad buy.

Yeahh if we're going to be completely practical then we should all face facts and accept that the silverface Bassman is, was and always has been the best guitar amp for the money.

Other than a Matamp. A 200w Matamp through a 16x10 cab and a Les Paul Custom.

That's funny.!
I am into "low watt" (20 watts and under) amps.....but even still.....your post sums up how I feel about the SF Fender Bassman. Because of its historical, low value (in dollars) it remains one of the best amps a player could ever buy.
