BC Rich Warlock - wood body?

Hi all. Does anyone know what the wood body for my BC Rich Warlock might be? I bought it new in 1989. It's a Platinum Series. Maple neck, rosewood fretboard. Floyd Rose.

I'm guessing that because it's a Platinum Series that it isn't agathis, but who knows. Anyone know what BC Rich used in those days for that series? Basswood? Alder?

Thanks.

Has anyone ever owned this guitar from this era (late '80s / early '90s) that can help?

Probably plywood, that was used a lot for the cheaper imports back then.

Cheers,

I had one or two back in the day. They're not plywood but I couldn't tell you if it was alder or anything else.

If you could take a picture of the wood in the pickup route some of the more knowledgable guys here might be able to take a better guess at it.

Why do you need to know? I was going to say that if it sounds good then put it out of your mind and don't worry about it but if you're just curious then I guess I can't argue with that.

That's a great question. I put an Invader in it a few years back and took it to gigs as a backup guitar. I find the pickup sounds thin in it - and that's the opposite of the way the pickup should sound. Anyway, I'm going to try it on one of my other guitars (not sure which one yet) and I'm curious as to the wood.

Anyway, this is the wrong forum for a pickup discussion so I just want to stick to the wood question for now. There's already been tons of threads on invaders.

I don't think they were using nato on the Platinum series guitars. At least not the ones from the 80s. Even at that, they used nato on the higher end NJ Neck Thru series as a cheaper mahogany.

It's most likely basswood or agathis from what I've read.
