I think it's very amp dependent. You can match speakers and speaker cabs to amps the same way you can match pickups to a guitar. . . and it seems to make even more difference to the tone that you hear. That said, I really like Celestion Vintage 30s in closed back cabs, and think that the Eminence Cannabis Rex sounds great in open back cabs.

It all depends on what you want them for...I am a fan of Celestions speakers old Jensen speakers ( I do not like the new ones BTW), I like Weber VST speakers, some of the new Eminence spekaers are nice, Tone Tubby makes some great speakers, I also like old EV's and JBL's for somethings, some of the older CTS speakers are cool as are some of the old Oxford speakers...like I said it just all depends on the amp, the guitar the setting and the desired results!
