You're right...it's one of mine too.
I'd guess it was a Gibson ES 330 (both Gibson P90 pickups "on") through a Vox AC-30.
I think that's all you'll get on this one: guesses!

In those days, they were the exact same guitar...probably it was a Casino.

Sure! Especially if you were recording at Abbey Road Studios through a mid 60's Vox AC-30 with Celestion Alnico Blue Speakers and using something like a multi-thousand $$$ Neumann microphone, etc. And had George Martin producing! :smack:
Just kidding with ya, but that's very much a recorded guitar tone...I'm not sure you could duplicate that amazing tone outside of that particular recording situation.
You could get close tho...

I was looking at getting one of these earlier (starting to think about it again) and the guys here said Duncans won't fit right. or something like that. I just remember a couple guys saying they didnt fit lol. Maybe Gibson P-90s will.

You think a Gretch? I dunno...that sounds like John playing that part to me...it's his song. I think, at the time, he and George were both using those Casinos.
But that's just a guess...coulda been anything!

Cool Jolly and I have the book titled "Beatles Gear" that shows everything they used all the way up to Abbey Road...It was mostly Gretsch stuff and the Ric guitars way back...

Any of the lead solos that sounded "outside" were played by Paul from my readings..
