Been thinkin about trading my Dr. Z

Ok so maybe I spoke just a hair too soon about being completely happy with all my gear though I guess this is a means of being happy. I've been toying around with the idea of trading off my Dr. Z Maz 18 and Z Best cab for another vintage Super Reverb to go with my 1969 S. Verb that I have. I love that amp and it's the one I take for every gig and I'm just a junky for that Fender sound.

Anyone, input? advice? have me committed? anyone?

its hard to go wrong with a good old super reverb. the dr z stuff is great but not my thing. if i was in your shoes id probably trade the z for another older fender. maybe not a second super but it would depend on what i could find that was good

I'm definitely thinking it may be time to snag another super or maybe a twin, or pro reverb, or even a deluxe reverb. Just have to see what I can find

Why another Super Reverb? Do you need 2 or do you want to just have 2? Either way the Super Reverb is on hellova amp. I have a 68 drip edge that has been completely rebuilt. It was all done before I bought it and it sounds really great, but I hardly use it now. I have a Bogner Shiva & a Komet. These are the 2 amps I use mostly. The SR was my main amp for over 10 years and I would find it hard to get rid of it. It is a great all around amp, but I would consider a Deluxe Reverb. This way you can use the Deluxe in smaller clubs and the Super in larger ones. Gives you a little more versatility in how you can gig.

I've always thought that the ideal amp setup would be a combination of a fender and some type of EL 84 amp, like an AC30, Matchless, or 65 Amps London.

that said, if you're happy with one amp for gigging, more power to ya ... the SR is definitely one of the greatest ever club amps, and I always thought they had the nicest break up of any BF amp.
