I finished this piece up earlier today. Its a cover of the Firewind Insturmental "Before the Storm" Its been a few years since I posted anything, but I recently started back up playing guitar again after yet another couple years layoff. Maybe this time ill keep at it.:naughty:
Equipment used is pretty primitive stuff, but it came out alright I think. I used guitar pro for the Keyboards, Bass and Drums. I split the Drum track into 3 tracks containing Kick, Toms/Snare and Cymbals/Sticks. The drum tracks required alot of EQ just to get them to resemble drum sounds unfortunately. The Bass and keyboards came out halfway decent as was, just a little EQ.
The rest of the tracks contain a track for the guitar solo, the solo harmonies and the background clean tone guitar. I used my Vamp2 for the clean tones and a Line 6 Guitar Port for the Distorted tones. I recorded all the lead guitar parts distorted, but otherwise dry and added some delay and reverb through the recording software.
The guitar used was my trusty Jackson DK2T hardtail with Duncans.
Unfortunatley i didnt have my good set of speakers available to mix with, only headphones. Everything sounded great in the phones, but it sounds like i have a bit too much reverb on the distorted tones when listening through some cheap PC speakers. Ah well, its just a crappy cover anyway, lol.
