Behringer 2x12

Re: Behringer 2x12

It's POS... please, just save your money. You'll be happier in the long run.

Re: Behringer 2x12

not to sound like a snob, but typically if anything says "behringer" on it, it's a P.O.S.

but for the sake of being able to make a better suggestion, you'll have to provide us with the following:
-what type of music do you play?
-do you play just at home? in a band? do you gig regularly?

How does stating the truth make you a snob? :laugh2:

Re: Behringer 2x12

I must defend this Behringer amp here :) It actually sounds pretty good. It sounds like a good amp. Don't let the price tag fool your judgement. Its strong point is versatility, I believe.

Nevertheless, muttonchopsrule is right about telling us your situation. We'd be able to make more relevant suggestions.

Re: Behringer 2x12

Add one more for the Behringer amps being crap camp......Been there, done that....wasted $$$.

Re: Behringer 2x12

If you can find and old one without the modeling they are decent amps. Very clean amps with a flat eq. Good if you play clean jazz.

Re: Behringer 2x12

If you're into the modeling thing, I would look into something with better quality, a Roland Cube 30 or 60 or a Vox , for instance. If you want a reasonable priced ss, there are a number of better amps for not much more $.

Thanks,
CoachC

Re: Behringer 2x12

If you want modeling, I agree with coach. Look for a Roland or Vox. They have real amp modelers in them and many more models.

Re: Behringer 2x12

i had a behringer gmx212, which wasn't too bad, i suppose. but then i swapped it for a vox ad50, and it completely annihilated it. that us higain model in the vox was my favorite =)

Re: Behringer 2x12

it may be not too bad for the money.
i did buy priced stuff to often in the past and
got unhappy with it as time passed by (very fast sometimes).
at the end i bought stuff always more than once
and spend double the money for the rig i originally wanted
to have and didn't want to pay for.

i suggest to save the money, go for a marshall, mesa, orange or whatever
fits your stile .....

just my 2 cents

Re: Behringer 2x12

Ah ok. Thanks for input. I play classic rock and metal and power metal and I only play at home.

If you haven't played that amp you probably shouldn't comment on it. I've played one. Now i was expecting it to be a piece of crap when I saw the name but for the price its not to bad. Doesn't compare to an amp like a classic 30 or if you go solid state, a marshall mg. But for the price if you can't afford anything else and you need that much volume, its not to bad.

I like the tweed model on mine the best. It's the most "tubey" sounding model.

That said, +1 for Behringer being complete crap.

For straight up SS, Tech 21 or Roland. They can't be beat.

For hybrids, the AVT marshalls aren't bad, and the Vox VT series are pretty good.
