Behringer 69 Vibe

If I'm hearing that vid correctly, Behringer got "vibrato" wrong the same way Leo got "tremolo" wrong. The thing on a Strat is "vibrato." That switch on the Vibe 69 sounds like "tremolo."

that comes from the univibe that its trying to copy. my stupid expensive univibe clone has the same chorus and vibrato settings. that thing does sound good in the video. when i did my deep dive, the jam pedal was the winner by far

A bit off topic, but what’s your favorite current production “modern” Univibe?

I been really itching to get a Univibe style pedal lately. I’ve never owned one so it’s kinda new territory for me. I don’t really want to wait till later in the year for the Behringer so I’ve been thinking about getting another one. Maybe something like the JHS Unicorn or EQD The Depths, so there won’t be as much overlap with the more “vintage” inspired Vibe 69 if I decide to pick it up later.

So, any opinions?

i did a shoot out with everything in a well stocked store. i went in specifically to try the unicorn. the deja vibe was my favorite of everything i tried. deeper, smoother, moodier, richer. then the jerk behind the counter handed me the jam pedal retrovibe... i waited for months till i found a good deal on one, but i knew i wouldnt be satisfied with anything else.

There are three that I've really liked when playing them. The Deja Vibe is great. Simple, sounds right, and the modern/vintage switch gives just a little more edge/more sweetness depending on the tone you're looking for - this is the one I ended up with. It's a bit of a pain in the ass that it requires an 18V power source though, if you're using a pedalboard brick that doesn't have this as an output. The Drybell Vibe Machine can make any kind of vibe sound you want, but seemed to require a bit more tweaking/patience to nail those vintage sounds - there's a lot of ability to tweak the range and symmetry and while some settings sound incredible it can be too easy to set it to sound not quite right. I recently had a chance to try out a Jam Pedals retrovibe which sounded great too, but was too rich for my pocketbook. I did like it better than my Deja Vibe initially, but after playing with the internal trim pots on the Deja Vibe and comparing I found I was able to get them both sounding the same (or close enough for my tin ears).

Any of those do the job very well though.

(I was disappointed with The Depths - too many knobs, difficult to get the vintage sounds that I wanted although it did give a lot of new sound options. The JHS sounded decent, but I found that it would clip sometimes when using humbuckers, which I didn't like at all.)

Ironically, it’s for these reasons I’m most interested in The Depths. I’m definitely looking for modern take on the Univibe. I like to do ambient music so I like to experiment with unique sounds.

I would definitely like a more “vintage” vibe at some point too. Ideally, I’d like both. One to get the vintage “Gilmour” tones and another to get more modern sounds. That’s my goal anyways.

Yeah, check out the Depths then . . . or maybe even the Drybell. Lots of non-traditional sounds to be had in either.

the real univibe sounds is a unique sound and not or everything, but if you want that sound, there isnt anything like it

And the Univibe sounds very different from an actual Leslie speaker- but that isn't as practical to tote around.

oh for sure. i have a h&k rotosphere for leslie sounds, the retrovibe is all univibe and a quite different thing
