Believe It!

I don't mean this in a bad way - It has a Spinal Tap tone about it. Vintage LP + Vintage Marshall. As Beer$ said - 70's vibe.

Definitely a vintagey sort of tone. But it reminds me more of early Soundgarden with Kim Thayle.
I'm just glad to see someone posting some sound.

I assume that was you, Stephen, what was the guitar/pickup/amp (and/or model, if such was used)?

I bet I could make that with a Rat...

I could get it with my Spidervalve. Almost early Rush.

Sounds pretty good, though the vocals sound far away. I didn't get a 70's feeling from it, other than maybe the keyboards. Guitars sound good. If the drummer were tighter it could be pretty solid.

Wow Beau, tighter?

You don't hear the little speed-up-drag thing going on in the hi-hat/snare? Just calling it on what I honestly heard. Just sounded like the drum part was pushing/pulling on the tempo.

I hear it. Considering he’s not releasing it professionally I didn’t want to nitpick.

Okay, I believe it! Very 70s vibe. Nice groove. What rig are you playing through? Is this your band?
Yes, this is my band.

Parker Fly Mojo
Line 6 Helix direct to the recorder.
All but vox and lead recorded live in the “studio”.

Little. Evidently not enough for me to really notice.

Models:
Centaur OD—>808 tube Screamer—>Xotic EP Boost—>Cartographer amp w/Uberkab V30 4x12 cab w/409 Dynamic mic. Chamber reverb.

The cartographer model is based on a heavily modded Traynor owned by one of the L6 programmers (Ben Adrian Cartographer). He named the amp after his band. I replace the Marshall models in nearly all of my “Marshall” presets with this one. I find it versatile and responsive.

One question -were these songs written by the drummer? the way the cadence on the vocal phrasings are -the downbeat nature - these songs sound like the drum beats and vocals came first in the songwriting process.

Just curious

Yes, most of the songs were written by the drummer. However, I tend to modify the vocals to fit me more. But some of these songs aren’t really “vocal driven.” Like this one.

Interesting observation: he is not a multi instrumentalist but ho plays drums. He’s a drummer who is a multi instrumentalist.

Good catch.
