I've been going through trying several different Tele bridge pickups lately & found him on the bay, but he does have a 'site. His standard pickups are scatterwound, which I really wanted to try on a Tele.
First, I bought his regular "Tele Bridge - Texas Sound". It sounded like a nice traditional Tele pickup with open, yet somewhat attenuated mids, and a nice 'ping' on the top end. It didn't sound hotter than a vintage-type Tele bridge. It was probably my mistake reading in 'Texas Sound' to mean hotter--I just know my Strat Texas Specials are a fair bit hotter than my Am Std's. Anyway, I told him I thought his pickup was great, but that I'd like something with a bit more output, particularly in the mids, without it getting too brash sounding. Plus, I needed the magnet to stay the same polarity, but reverse the wind. He said, "No problem, I'll rewind and it take care of that." Well, he did & I love my new pickup. It matches up really well with the Velvet T in the neck. His prices are insanely affordable. I'll probably give his Strat stuff a try next.
