Best $400 -$450 Bass Amp

Guys my friend is ready to buy a new bass amp ,these days he plays through PA, i thought i should ask here, any suggestions.He mostly play classic rock.

Go with a cab for a few hundred. Go used. You can get a SWR, Trace Elliot or Hartke for that sort of money.

As for a head, hunt around for a GK 800RB, or a Peavey Mark IV. If the 800RB's are too pricey then look for the 400RB's. They're good for most but the older 800's are legendary.

Stay away from Behringer. Don't buy new....

I could stand to get rid of my Peavey bass combo if your friend would be interested in that. It sounds good I just don't really have a place for it right now.

Yeah ashdown is a great amp for my ears.Crisp and full.A second hand one wouldn't be expensive!

As far as a head only goes, the Carvin B800. New is about $430, not including shipping.

Yeah, I've always liked the Ashdown MAG series. And check out the variety of speaker cabs for bass available from Avatar.
