Best Acoustic For Under $500?

I'm looking for a good acoustic guitar (NOT acoustic/electric). It has to have the following:

Single cutaway
Solid top
Traditional strings (where the E,B and G strings are all see through strings - nylon?)

I like acoustics to have great depth to the sound... I don't like bright sounding ones. I like them to have personality. :newangel:

What would be a good acoustic? Please give me one in the $300 range, and one in the $500 range.

Thanks!

the acoustic guitars that have nylon (clear) strings are classical guitars. They sound very different from the steel stringed acoustics. Are you sure that you want a classical.

yeah.....his description kinda contradicted itself. It threw me for a loop.

Not sure what your looking for, in a classical guitar I wouldn't be concerned with a single cutaway - Yamaha makes some very nice classicals in the three to four hundred price range, solid tops (laminate backs and sides).

Ah right... didn't know the difference between classical and acoustic..... :smack: :duh:

Yes, I want a classical and I would prefer it to be a single cutaway since I like soloing down the neck and that's hard without the cutaway...

Am I asking for something that doesn't exist???? :wall:

why would you want a classical guitar over a steel string acoustic? What kind of music are you going to play. Steel strings are better sounding for most kinds of music. There are plenty of cut away acoustics but I am not sure who makes cut away classical guitars.

Alvarez AJ-60SC Jumbo acoustic electric. If you don't like the fact that it has electronics, ignore that part, because it sounds fantastic whether it's plugged into an amp or not. Best jumbo I've played in its price range. Looked and felt like a million bucks. However, you have to like a brighter sounding acoustic to enjoy it... if you want dark, you're looking at something more like a Martin. However, it does offer a deep and complex sound, so the fact that it's not dark may not pose as an issue. Just food for thought.

NM, I just realized you said classical... just ignore my post
