Best amp you've ever played through?

Not necessarily the best amp or amp tone you've ever HEARD, but what's the best amp you, personally, have ever tried?

That would be a Conquest. All tube and handmade in Belgium. I can't say that I'm a big fan of these amps but they stay remarkably articulate under high gain. Nice cleans. Too bad they can't get really loud. They look like just another Marshall clone but they sound actually pretty good.

It was my ENGL Savage 120 back when i played it in a shop through a shop cab about half a year ago now, and ive been chasing that tone since then :(

The H&K Triamp Mk II, although my Mk I sounds pretty close (it'll sound a lot better after I put in new tubes this weekend ;) )

I can't pick just one............
I have played thru a jtk 45 (I think thats what it was) it was amazing!!
I played thru a blackface deluxe that was to die for!

I played thru a Matless that was incredible.

All of the above were amazing for "CERTAIN" things..

I firmly believe the "holy grail" does not exisist in ONE amp

I'd say a tie between the Hand wired Vox AC30 and the Matchless Chieftain I hit the other day.

Different tones, but righteous tones nonetheless.

For fear of sounding like a harmony central snob....LOL...

My metalfront Bogner Ecstasy 101B #138 with Tesla EL-34's and GT pre's is the best amp I've ever owned or plugged into.
Also, my Matchless Chieftain 2-12. Tesla and Mullard tubes.

Besides those, which I jumped through hoops to aquire...

A Komet 60 and Constellation 30
Badcat Hotcat 30 head on Badcat 4-12
My old Blues Pearl Shreadhead
The modded 72 Superbass I had that Billy Duffy used on Cult's Sonic Temple.
Carr Imperial 4-10 combo

Best I've owned is probably my little Orange AD15/12 best I've played through was probably a late 50's Tweed Bassman that was at my friend's guitar shop about 10 years ago. Sooner or later I will own an old Tweed.

A BlackFace Vibrolux -It sang sweet And Screamed:D
A Early 70's 50 watt Marshall (don't remember what model) I pluged my strat into it. It was aweful, But when I pluged my Les Paul in WOW!! serious Crunch.
Ampege V-4 played it on 10 Serious hearing Damage:eek:

I liked the fender blues jr. I played alot, with a better speaker, something like a classic 30, to add a bit of bassy fatness and cut a tad of the high end off, it'd be damn near perfect for what I'm going for.

The "old" Mesa Dual Rectifier. That amp just had a response and clarity that I've never seen in any other amp, even other rectos! I've auditioned two of these (one was #8) and that has been the distortion that I have been chasing through most of my guitar life. Too bad both were snatched up before I had the cash.

Also, IMHO, I hate the new 3-channel rectos. Mesa needs to realize that tone is more important than features.

The best Fender I've ever played through is my 3x10" 1959 Bandmaster set up like she is right now! The best Marshall I've ever played through was my old Superlead, at least in my mind. The best EL84 amp I've ever played was a 2x12 Tophat Club Royale, I'd like to have me one of them babies.
