Best Bass Pickup Brand?

Although we're not supposed to mention it, there are other pickup brands out there... yes, it's true. :banned:

Anyway, I think that musicman basses sound very very very cool... so if you wanted to make the ultimate musicman bass, and wanted the best musicman pickup money could buy, what would you get?

The SD ones look great, but is there a better alternative?

If you're going to get the Basslines MM pickup, you owe it to yourself to also get the Basslines preamp as well.

More than 50% of the coolness in the Basslines system comes from the preamp: three bands of active EQ plus the slap switch. Awesome!

if you cant get your hands on a lane poor then i think the duncan alnico mm pup and preamp are the way to go. ive put them in a few basses ive built for people and they have always loved them!!
