Best delay under $200.00

Re: Best delay under $200.00

The biggest difference I found was the Line6 has the tap tempo available instantly whereas the dd-6 you have to hold the pedal down for 2 seconds to get it into tap mode. The DD-20 can be had for under 200 and IMHO is better than both. It has the same tap feature as the dd6 but you can hook an external tap button up to it and I think it is more versatile than the Line 6.

+1 I totally agree on the Boss DD-20, $199 at AMS. (I think) :smack:

Re: Best delay under $200.00

I'd say, even though this may be way under $200, is the Boss DD-3. I've had it for years and it's really a great delay pedal. It does one thing, that thing being add delay to your signal, really well. If you're not looking for tap tempo, or looping, or any other stoner/space-cadet related madness, but just want a simple pedal that makes a few repeats, go with the DD-3.

Re: Best delay under $200.00

Any BOSS DD-# are great units for the money. Just bought a DD-3 for 50$ US....

Re: Best delay under $200.00

The SIB Mr Echo does a nice job of delivering an analog sound in a digital box with true bypass switching for $125 or less. It doesn't have tap tempo, but it does have a real nice sound.

Re: Best delay under $200.00

I use the Boss DD-5 or RV-3. They'll let me send a signal to two amps in stereo too.

Re: Best delay under $200.00

I'd get a DD6 or a Line 6 Echo Park... after listening to the DD5 and 3 next to the DD6 i feel the former pedals are slightly lacking in tone preservation. The DD6 seems to be able to preserve the warmth a little better.

Re: Best delay under $200.00

I would say go Boss, but Line 6 has a great delay reputation as well. Check out the DD-6 like everyone said, as well as the Echo Park. Whatever you think works better is what you should go for.

Re: Best delay under $200.00

So has my DD-5 been replaced in the Boss lineup with the DD-6? I'm not familar with the DD-6. Lew

Re: Best delay under $200.00

I needed a stereo in and out delay pedal, so my options were limited. 4 available, that I know of, DD6 DD20 and the Line6 echo park and the Line6 delay modeler. I had the modeler and really did'nt care for it too much(some may call me crazy!). The echo park was cool, probably one of the beefiest/heaviest single pedals I've seen. But the DD 20 just fit my needs better plus I like having some crazy sounds available(*not that I'll ever actually use them).

From what I've heard it sounds great, it's extremely versitile, and can delay your @$$ into the ground. I'm not in the market for one, but everybody says to me "You know, you should replace your DD-3 with a DD-6...". For real.
