iv seen some prety cool designs...
fanned frets, twin necks, 1.5 x in length!!
but they cost a bit...

rediculous pickups??
livewires?
hotrails?

scalloped fretboards?
fretless?

just let ur imagination run wild and tell me what you would get if money was no option... :32:

Re: best guitar money can buy???

haha yea, custom jackson, rhoads or soloist body (mahogany of course), ebony fret board, SD pickups, white, black pinstripes, string thruum.. black hardware, some kinda gain boost or whatever

Re: best guitar money can buy???

Soloist body, rosewood board, SD pickups, Flame maple top, amberburst, schaller trem, black or chrome hardware.

How do you define best? When it comes to attention to detail and nifty engineering, Joe Driskill gets my money. Literally.

I got one guitar from him a couple years ago and have another one on order.

How much do they go for? I imagine there must be a fair waiting list too?

Re: best guitar money can buy???

+1 on Custom Shop Jackson.

I'd also go all out on warmoth.
SRV hamilton lurktamer strat with binding and EMGs.
Custom Les Paul with 3 humbuckers or P90s and a crazy paintjob.
A Heritage 535 Jazzbox with Seth Lover pickups.
A Heritage Supper Kenny Burrell model jazzbox.

Re: best guitar money can buy???

Since everybody's gonna say Soloist, I'm gonna go with a Charvel Strathead, 81/60 or Custom/'59, Jackson JT-6 non-recessed trem, behind-the-nut locking nut, master volume, master tone, Jackson JE-1200 mid-booster, maple neck-thru, ebony board, poplar or alder wings.

Re: best guitar money can buy???

For me, my money goes to Don Grosh... his guitars always have that *magic* unplugged that shows that he really taps his wood to check for resonance. There are a million great guitar companies out there, take a pick(Driskill, Suhr, Grosh, Lentz, Melancon, Anderson, Tyler, Baker, DTM...)!

Re: best guitar money can buy???

That's so subjective. There is no "best," maybe "best for you." I like Les Pauls and LP based guitars- they work for me and I'm comfortable with them.

Re: best guitar money can buy???

Squire Bullet in red with a killer HB in the bridge bro!!!!

Actually, strat, made by G&L i plaayed in Nashville, the most resonant, easily playing guitar i have ever seen, heard, or played... Hands down the greatest. I wish i bought it! Also, my G&L is ****ing unbelievable. Its number 3 ive ever played. 2 is an Anderson Tele style i also played in nashville. Basically, the right strat tthough oddly enough, my modded Classic 50 which is hands down the best amp ive ever played... and I have played and owned an assload of high end amplifiers.

Re: best guitar money can buy???

Hmmm...

I'd prolly jes get a Les Paul from the GCS, and a Strat from the FCS.

Those are the two basic sounds I love...and want. Every other guitar I've owned that is supposedly a "better" guitar, couldn't do those sounds...always a compromise tonally.

If the tone ain't happenin, I don't care how well it's built or how pretty it is.
