I only have experience with the JB in the neck. I have a DB in the bridge. I really like it because its a different tone than my DB. It has great sustain, great harmonics, and is just a sweet sounding pickup. In normal rock/high gain lead situations, the volume is not a problem compared to the DB. For cleans, I do have to back up on the JB a bit as it is loud. (even though I did lower it quite a bit, I don't want to lower it anymore) To mean its meaty, and warm. It does not have the "tightness" in the bottom end of say a full shred and probably consequently a Jazz. (I have a full shred in my other guitar with a custom in the bridge) But that's okay, at least for me, as I can get that type of tone from my bridge pup. Beautiful pick up in the neck, I'd recommend anyone try it out at the very least.

I don't like humbuckers hotter than 8K for neck humbuckers...to muddy. But if you insist, I'd say try the Distortion neck...at least it's designed for that position. Lew

I know that but a lot of guys use the C5 JB and others that are NOT neck pups in the neck spot :yell: :dance:

I'm guessing a Demon would have plenty of clarity...might not be very fat though. Havent' tried it but I've heard people say it sounds like a Jazz on the juice. If that helps. For clarity, that might be your best bet at 10k.
