Best Les Paul Copy

Re: Best Les Paul Copy

The Japan Replicas as far as production replicas go.

Tokai
Edwards/Navigator/ESP
Greco
Burny
Orville
Epiphone Elitist/Elite
Epiphone Japan
70's and 80's replicas by Yamaha, Ibanez, and Aria Pro.
Diodati.

Otherwise their are small luthier shops that make some great LP replicas.
Shamray comes to mind.

Heritage makes an excellent LP alternative.

My Diodati 59Q is not an exact replica. More an LP alternative.

Shapes actually closer to a Heritage H150
awesome quality. Fit and finish is great.

It IS a Les Paul made in Japan by Gibson's Japanese outfit.

Grecos, Burnys and Edwards were mostly never exported out of Japan.

As a result you can either go the eBay route (there's always at least a few models available) or go online and find a used guitar shop in Japan.

Does it have to be a single cutaway? If not, then I'd say the Hamer Studio Custom.

Like a cross between a double cutaway LP JR. and a '59 Les Paul.

Epiphone!!

The newer Epi LP Customs have the potencial to be excellant guitars. A little fret work, new pickups and new electronics can make a nice one into a totally professional instrument, IMO.

Re: Best Les Paul Copy

Has anybody tried the Traditions? I already have a Gibson LP and am looking to buy a copy. So far i liked the Traditions SOUND best, the neck sucks. Anyway just wondering if any of you have tried a Tradition and have played a better copy. When Gibson moved out of Calimazoo to Nashville, they left their stuff there and the workers started Tradition. That would make them more Gibson than Gibson....Thats just what i heard.
