Best Overdrive Pedal for an AC30?

My Fulldrive 2 is starting to sound a little buzzy/farty... Whats a killer mild overdrive pedal that would be a good match with the Vox? Nothing intense; think Coldplay, Starfield, etc. :dunno:

Xotic BB+ or the AC+ if you want more smooth...good pedals.

Best OD for an AC30 is a treble booster.......try a Beano Boost ! :bigok:

OCD....has a horrible output impedance...everything after that thing looses top...

For AC30s, many people rave about the Crowther Hot Cake. I have one, but I use my treble boosts more often.

Dunno he needs something softsounding, not too spiky or harsh.....
Well as good as they would like us to belive that they can sound, you know like this and that...it is still a friggin pedal
Buy a Laney Lionhart 20 watt head....leave the silly world of Boutique(translate, buy me buy me...I will solve your problems by adding more of them )

I was actually trying to be a wise-guy by saying the best OD is a Boost....for me it IS...but I've also heard the Crowther is great as is the Gas Pedals Carb...& Skreddy Screwdriver.

Never tried any of them though.

It's funny, I always forget that the hotcake is a sought after item overseas. It's always just been a cool pedal made in a back shed a couple of suburbs across.

Not the most expensive, or exotic...but as good as most OD's that cost three times more: Boss OD3. If it had a different name and tye dye paint job, plus a higher price tag, the battery sniffers would pay hundreds for it and dedicate a forum to praising it :laughing:

My experience with the FD is it's fantastic on a Fender style amp...not so much on a Brit, esp. one with EL84s.

Slap it on some 6L6s & it'll jump back to life

Maxon pedals are fantastic. Check VOX pedals too.

The Big Ben and Bulldog are both great pedals. Demoed a Blackstar HT and compared sbs with those two and liked the Vox pedals more. Not a fan of tube pedals but with the right amp you can get some real nice sounds.

The Hot Cake is a nice overdrive. You can get a good boost with the drive set to 9:00 or so, and it grows teeth quickly when you set the drive pretty much anyplace past noon.
