I will be buying a used multi pedal power source and want to know about these items compatability with my setup. I found some used items listed above and want to know what to get. I am not interested in the new power brick or the new Voodoo lab pedal power 2. I want something cheap/ good / used. Thanks

1 Ground control midi pedal
1 G minor midi pedal/tuner
1 Dunlop crybaby (rackmount version pedal)
1 Visual volume pedal
1 Digitech whammy pedal

I may at some point get more pedals but not anytime soon.

i'm not familiar with the ones you listed but i use a BOSS TU-2 pedal tuner which powers my other pedals and i have no complaints with it, works great for me as a power supply and tuner.

I use the Visual Sounds 1-Spot...inexpensive and noiseless. I've read that the Voodoo Labs power block is an excellent unit as well.

Do you think the 1 spot will run alot of different companies pedals with different MA requirements?

Do some research on the Dunlop DC Brick. It's basically an updated Juice.

I love the pedals from Visual Sounds, but had to send my One Spot back because it started generating noise. The guy was great and fixed/replaced it for free, but it seems finicky about noise levels sometimes.

Personally, someday soon I'm going to get either a Dunlop DC brick or spring for a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2. The isolated grounds of the PP2 might be a real benefit, but it's an expensive critter.

That's what I use. I don't see any reson to spend major $$$ on the Pedal Power 2 when the DC Brick works perfectly for me and costs about half the price. I've been using mine for two years, and I love it. It's quiet, it powers all my pedals with no problems, and it can handle both 9 and 18 volt pedals.

i have been using the dc brick with no problems either. i am sure you could find a used one somewhere

Actually, I tried in vain not long ago to find a used Dunlop DC Brick. Nada. Hey, that pretty much tells me it's a keeper! A decent price too. If you use a lot of pedals it'll pay for itself in no time.

Re: BEST PEDALBOARD POWER SUPPLY, Dunlop juice, V lab pedal power 1, VS 1 spot ??

I had a DC Brick and it it generated way too much noise. There were a few places I played at where it was quiet, but the majority of the time it made so much noise it was unusable IMO. It also made noise mo matter where I plugged it in at home...very annoying. I might be a rare case though, most people say the Brick works fine...

I have had good luck with the 1-Spot. I heard people complaining about noise when some of the pedals were run thru the effects loop and some weren't, so I bought a pair of 1-Spots w/daisy chains. One of them is powering a Boss DD-6, an Analogman Clone Chorus, a Fulltone Fat-Boost and a Whirlwind Selector, and the other 1-Spot is powering a Cry Baby, Phase 90, a Tube Screamer and a Keeley DS-1. No noise, no hassle, and not taking up extra real estate on the pedal board.

If your are looking for cheap and fucntional try the One Spot. I bought mine from musicians friend for 24.95. The next thing I would recommend is to use George L cables to wire everything together. They sell a setup just for pedalboards which runs about 40.00. The George L cables are the extremly quiet and offer the cleanest signal I have heard. Thats what its all about Clean.... no interference, and functional. I made my board over 5 years ago, and I have never had any problems with it.

Re: BEST PEDALBOARD POWER SUPPLY, Dunlop juice, V lab pedal power 1, VS 1 spot ??

Try the Fruman SPB-8. Not only does it simplify set-ups, but the onboard power conditioner runs up to 8 effects with max amperage of 100ma per output. With my TU-2, I cheat and run an extra couple of pedals since it can provide power via daisy chains!

I have NEVER had even the slightest noise problem from the board, and we often play under 48" fourescent blacklights. Those used to creat some serious noise!!!

Just my opinion, but I love the quick setup and power supply/conditioning!!

Re: BEST PEDALBOARD POWER SUPPLY, Dunlop juice, V lab pedal power 1, VS 1 spot ??

I'd probably go with the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power, all the AC jacks are isolated so there's no possibility of ground loop hum.

Hey Spark -

I hadn't tried separating the pedals before the amp from those in the effects loop. Makes a lot of sense that there could be a problem with that.

Thanks!

I second that! The Dunlop DC Brick works and it works just fine.
