Best Pickup for an Alder body, Maple Top & neck guitar

I am looking for a good pickup combo for a light weight (alder body, maple top and set in maple neck with Rosewood fret board) guitar that would make a good balance of tone on a naturally bright guitar. The tone I am shooting for is Megadeath's "holy wars" (or any other type of heavy metal) for the bridge. and clean- warms for the neck.

What do you think?

well since both dave and marty used jb's id go for a jb/jazz combo. great clean and dirty tones.
what amp are ya using? if its high gain then you should be in good shape
