Best Pickups For Haeavy Metal Strat?

I have a Squire strat and I want to upgrade from the junky stock pickups. I want to be able to play as many genres as I can while still be able to get good enough distortion for my main genre: Heavy Metal. I was thinking of getting the Everything axe SD set (lil 59 bridge,Duckbucker middle, JB Jr bridge) but I've seen that the Hot Rails is more recommended over the JB Jr for heavy metal so I would like to know what everyone here thinks is better: the Everything Axe set or I get a Hot Rails for the bridge and figure out what I should get for the other two positions.

what's the rest of your rig like?

i always maintain that the pickups are the last thing you should think about until you have a good amp / effect situation straightened out, mostly because the kind of pickups to use largely depends on what you wanna plug 'em into.

like if you have a Dual Rec you'd probably be able to do metal all day with the Everything Axe set...but if you've got a JCM800 you might need more OOMPH to piss-off the preamp...so to do heavier sounds you might like Hot Rails.

give us some more info about what you're using bro.
