Best pickups for microphonic/piezo acoustic sound on electric guitar?

Diminished Triad

I'm trying to design and build a Warmoth electric guitar that will have more acoustic sound than even a Taylor 5 (and other similar models). I'm familiar with fishman piezo bridges (bridge pickups that sound acoustic as opposed to electric) but would like to know if there are electric guitar pickups that are microphonic or for other reasons will project the acoustic sound of the guitar as opposed to an electric guitar sound? Thanks again for any information you share! I hope someone has some experience in this area.

Is the only pickup available for electric guitars that produce an acoustic sound a piezo bridge pickup? I'm really hoping there is one that can be placed in the neck and/or bridge slots.
Thanks so much!

Piezo pickups need to be placed in completely different locations as compared to magnetics.

Piezo pickups are for the bridge only since they are non-magnetic. There are piezo saddles for both strat and Gibson style bridges, but on solidbody guitars they don't sound identical to acoustics and they are also a pain in the ass to wire. There are also magnetic soundhole pickups which are tailored to acoustic applications. Honestly you can put a strat pickup in an acoustics sound hole and it will still sound like an acoustic. Pickups are just passive transducers and if they are transparent enough they will convey the acoustic character of the guitar.

Normally you would need separate output for each kind of transducer such as piezo, magnetic and microphone. Mixing these signals can be problematic, but there are acoustic amps which can amplify multiple inputs and rack mount preamps that you can use to mix the signals. Mixing different inputs on the guitar isn't really feasible.

L.R. Baggs M1 is designed as a stacked humbucker where the lower coil also acts as a microphone to pick up the body resonance. But it's designed for acoustic guitar. Unless your build is a hollow or semi-hollow, I don't know that it would do what you are expecting.
