Best place to order a Shop Floor Custom

I have a student who is looking to order a Shop Floor Custom. What he described seems to fall under the Shop Floor Custom program and not the Custom Shop. These have to be ordered through an actual SD dealer. I'd rather send him to a dealer that people here have a good history ordering from (not just in stock, but using the Shop Floor Custom program). Our local SD dealer has closed, and I'd rather not send him to a chain like GC or SA.

I've never done a Shop Floor Custom with him, but I've had great dealings with banjomikez on eBay. He even made a mistake on an order once, and called me up. We talked for quite awhile. Good guy. Probably around my age. You could always email and ask him. 100% positive feedback.

Banjomikez is the man!
I also chit chatted with him about pickups a few years ago. He’s a wealth of knowledge.

I believe it is some kind of 4 conductor Seths in black powdercoat, with the bridge being a Trembucker. I told him if he buys them and doesn't like them, I would buy them from him.

I got 2nd dibs if you don't like them.

Same-day response seems like an overly high level expectation.

I get that. Just an update at the end of the day to keep the thread going. I will give him 5 days or so, which is reasonable before I search for something else.

I like Mike who sells on line at ebay under banjo Mikes. GREAT guy with customer service that is as good as it gets. i got a Perpetual Burn from him that had been soldered in and messaged him on ebay. He went so far as hunt down my PHONE NUMBER and personally call me when he saw it!! This guy and this company are the real deal and it gets no better in service than this!! He also stocks a LOT of floor custom stuff that no one else will so IMO is the guy to go to.

That sounds more like pure Custom Shop since the Seth isn't available in any of those options off the shelf other than 4-conductor wiring.

Another +1 for banjomikez. I've deal with him in the past. Sometimes he has stuff on the shelf that would be shop floor custom.

I pm’ed you his #

I may call if a few days go by and I don't hear from him by email.

Yeah, I don't know. The Shop Floor Custom has options such as color, baseplate, polarity, etc are available to any current production model.

If a store has alternate colours of Seymour Duncans listed on their site, is it a safe bet they’re able to order shop floor customs?

Also several dealers like Mike did things like ordering a bunch of Custom 8s as floor custom pickups and then stocking them. I would love to see exactly what can be ordered as a floor custom option.

FWIW, my Sweetwater sales rep just told me yesterday that he has been trying to place a special order with Duncan, and he's getting no response. If Sweetwater can't get them to pick up the phone or answer an e-mail, maybe Duncan is shut down at the moment.

But he also wants a trembucker spaced Seth bridge? That tells me Custom Shop. Worth asking about though.
