best rackmount delay

whats the best rack mount delay. It can do other things that's a plus but i need it to have a great delay to use in place of my dd-3 on my dsl100. It's going to be going through the effects loop(of course) and i'm looking for one that will take up 1 full rack mount space or a 1/2.

dd-3 does a good job but I dont' feel like changing my pedalboard setup everytime i switch between amps since i have it run infront of my amp on the board. I don't really feel like running the effects loop out to the front of the stage and back either. I am figuring this is the best way to go.

Re: best rackmount delay

I am very much out of my rack days but if you want a good (IMO VERY GOOD FOR THE MONEY) multi-fx that is rack mount get a rocktron intellifex...there are several versions get the newest one you can afford. If you want a killer dely it's hard to beat a TC Electronics!

Re: best rackmount delay

I still think Digitech makes the best delay of anyone on the market (DSP 128). But, if you don't want a Digitech, Line 6 makes an incredible delay, and Lexicon still makes one of the best in the business.

Re: best rackmount delay

Line6's Rackmount DL4...or whatever...the farking green one.

Great delay tones there.

Re: best rackmount delay

Def TC Electronics 2290 for pro applications. But the Line6 Delay modeler and EchoPlex Digital Pro Plus are very cool.

Re: best rackmount delay

Rocktron Intellifex has awsome delays.. Some of the Patch Presets you can sorta layer delays on top of delays for some pretty cool effects. They go for cheap on ebay too.

Re: best rackmount delay

what about tc's G major? I like the price better :22:

does it even compare, or is it junk?

Re: best rackmount delay

my rocktron intellifex has been bulletproof for about 10yrs ... the sounds are just perfect and i find it easy to program and control ... the g major seems to have a lot of fans as well

good luck
