Looking to replace my pre amp tubes in my my EVH 5150 100 watt. Thinking about getting tungsol 12ax7 standard. My amp has a background noise that's always there in every channel. Read somewhere that a bad pre amp tubes causes this. What's your guys thoughts? What is the best pre tube I could get and have a good metal sound but still have good cleans.
