Best value in noise gates?

I'm getting to the point where the hiss from my gain is getting annoying, and I want to put a stop to it, but I don't want to kill my tone or my budget. I hated the EHX Silencer, but I don't have a lot of experience otherwise. My leaning is towards the MXR Smart Gate, mainly because I don't want to pony up for an ISP. What say you?

I ordered a compressor ON amazon and this is what they sent me. A coolmusic C-CS02 I love it though, it quites everything down nicely.

Look it up on Amazon it's only $30.

Hahahaha. They're still fucked up with their product numbers.

COOLMUSIC C-CS01 Compressor Pedal, Comp Guitar Pedal Compression Effect Electric Guitar and Bass True Bypass https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09GTV6QZQ...6V6E4DKST2KGKQ

If you order the noise gate you'll probably get the compressor. lol

I ordered the compressor and got the noise gate.

You want the C-CS02

I used the Joyo Gate of Kahn for a couple years for my muff. Got zero problems. Tiny (I put it under the board), cheap and works well.

Bang for the buck and best quality per dollar spent goes to the Donner Soph Gate. There are a lot of good gates out there to pick from but this is the best value by far for a gate that really works as should.

Other good products I own and have used are below.

ISP rack and various pedals
KMA
Revv
Fortin
Boss -least favorite by far

I use the MXR Smart Gate and like it. If you can find one used at a good price I'd get that one. I did have The Silencer and sold it. Best value gate is probably the Behringer Noise Reducer. $25 new at Sweetwater...

Quick update.

I bought and received the Donner pedal, and it didn't address my problem. I actually don't think my problem is preamp noise at all.

After watching some of this video and hearing my exact same issue when he's talking about his pedalboard at about 18:00 or so, I think I may just learn to live with it. When the power tubes start to go, I'll see if new tubes or maybe a cooler bias will lower it a little bit.

What amp are you doing this with? Are you running noise gate before or after your pedals, or in the fx loop of the amp, or is the whole pedal board in the loop?

Origin 50 head, tried the gate going last before the input and last in the loop, and neither made a difference. Noise scales with the master volume, not with the preamp gain.

Josh likes the TC Electronics Sentry.

This pedal looks intriguing.

Jacks are way too close for me on that TC. Will only do 4-cable with all straight plugs. Fine for some but not for my board.

I think I can get the Soph Gate to do the trick. I had the amp cranked on 20-watt mode, but when I ran the master at about halfway on full power and engage the pedal last in the loop, it seems to do the trick. I have to turn it off when I roll down the volume and go clean, but that’s what the foot switch is for.

FWIW my NS-2 (top right) is like that and I found a way to run 90-degree plugs in the space between the bars of my pedal board. Even if I didn't have that, I might just run the 90 plugs 2 up and 2 down and keep the pedal off the bottom row (since I don't often turn a noise gate on/off while playing.)
