Best Zeppelin Pedal

Re: Best Zeppelin Pedal

I would say you use an old Marshall on low gain.. isn't that was Page would use live sometimes?

Re: Best Zeppelin Pedal

Page used a Supro amp on the first couple records, but the sound he is most commonly know for is the old Les Paul, Marshall Plexi sound. If you dont have a Plexi, then maybe try Fulltones new OCD pedal, that should do it too.

I would agree. That, and any decent MKII Tonebender clone should keep you covered.

+1

A Pro Analog Mk II with Mullard chip will get you there (I have a Dual Drive and am going to be getting in my Supaquack this week, great guy and great products).

Small amps was the key to his tone. He used Marshalls later on in his career, but the early days (back when he used a Tele) were with a good 'ole Supro.

Re: Best Zeppelin Pedal

The Zeppelin tones that I personally think typify the band are coming from either clever micing and placement of small combos, probably with a single 12 inch speaker and 6V6's, or the deliberate "misuse" of equipment (as is the case with "Black Dog," which was just two UA 1176 compressors cascaded into each other straight into the board and doubletracked).
