better?

what would be a better guitat? mainly for more shredding type stuff.

I'd say John 5 could outshred Alexi on any guitar.

That being said, the Alexi has great fret access while the Tele has the huge bolt on it.

As long as you're in the $1050 neighborhood for that Laiho, I'd go that extra step and get a REAL shredder like a Jackson Soloist for example. If you search on eBay a bit you can track down a good 80s handmade axe, and these are always going to be better than paying for the name in my book.
