Hi folks, I just purchased a used BG 1400 Tele bridge pickup ,and have a couple of questions.
1. Is this pickup a humbucker ? If so it still hums ?
2. The DC resistance written on the box is 31.7k. I am reading 27.9k with a Fluke ,and reading between the black lead ,and ground. Is this a problem ?

Thank you !

Raise the room temperature by 2 degree and you will be there.

Re: BG 1400 ?

the dc is close enough that i wouldnt worry about it. if wired correctly id assume it should be quiet since its a stacked humbucker

It could be a general grounding issue. When I have my hand on the strings ,bridge ,control panel, it gets a lot more quiet. I know a good tech I'll have him look at it if I can't fix it.

Re: BG 1400 ?

It is a stacked coil pickup, so it is hum-cancelling. The hum might be another issue...it shouldn't be the pickup. You can wire the pickup directly to the jack, or even try it with an amp in a different location and see if you still get hum.
