Bi-Amping jumpered Edana with 2204

I know I'm still in the honeymoon phase with my JCM-800 2204, but man this thing sounds incredible with the Edana cranked up right beside it. Those huge KT66 tubes throw out a large amount of bass and the EL34 tubes have that unmistakable growl to them. Together they sound like the most bad-ass Marshall I've ever come across. It's like they build on each other's sound. The Edana gives the JCM-800 more bass and some low-mids to work with and the 2204 adds that unmistakable growl/edge that only a JCM-800 can bring. Hearing them together is like ear-sex. Oddly, I thought that these amps would sound too close to each other to really be a good match for bi-amping, but I couldn't have been more wrong about that. They really compliment each other well.

I did use a line 6 chorus pedal to output the signal in stereo (my echo park seems to have gone completely nuts BTW), but otherwise there were no pedals and the chorus pedal was bypassed so I only got the dual output from that pedal. I might have to make another video to show off what these amps can do together. They both really seem to like the Weddington with the P-Rails in it. That guitar makes Marshalls sing. If there ever was a "my" sound, this has to be it. I can't conceive of anything possibly sounding better than this.

I agree that this combination is a killer - tone machine.

Did you have the Sweet or *itch switch on?

LOL! Oh yeah! Ran my JCM 800 and my Splawn together and was delicious!

Running it in "sweet" mode. I wanted to exaggerate the differences between the amps to give the widest "spread" I could get between the tones they put out.

I love that combination.....a gainy and focused amp in stereo with a tubby edge of breakup vintage flavor.

It adds even more touch responsiveness, because when you dig in hard, the cleaner amp starts to overdrive.

I just want to go on record as saying you officially suck.

However, I am glad you finally got a Marshall that you can gel with, although with the Edana I figured you would be set. Enjoy the hell out of those amps man. It's good to be working again....huh?

Absolutely. My job is far from easy, but I do enjoy it for the most part. It's like trying to juggle flaming chainsaws or something LOL.

I ran through more than a couple of Marshalls before arriving at this point. I've had a Studio 15 and a DSL-100 before the 2204. Neither Marshall brought a smile to my face like the 2204 does. The Edana is wicked running in tandem with the 2204 and it's also very cool when you run some EMG's through it as well. It also loves pedals far more than the 2204 does. I'm thinking of either getting a Rangemaster clone or something to add a little top end and trim back the bass slightly while boosting the signal to see how the Edana will respond to it. I've tried a TS clone and while it's pretty good, it's not what it could be. I like the Edana's cleans when the bass is really thick, but I like the dirt to have the bass trimmed back considerably and a Rangemaster may do the trick nicely.
