Absolutly top notch pickups at great prices!!!! I have used the L-280s, Xl-500, and the L500c. The downside is there is about a two month wait for them. What kind are you interested in?

I play in a church with dimmer transformers 10 feet behind me. When the lights go on, the buzzing starts. Bill Lawrence is the only guy whose humbuckers are 100% humbucking. Bill solved my problem. His background in metallurgy and the physiccs of electricity and magnetism is truly amazing. His pickups do NOT have metal base plates, since they increase eddy currents and also cause some hum. Not a problem unless you are playing in a HUGE EM field which I play in. He does not sell specialty pickups, but sells pickups that bring across the whole frequency spectrum.
I have two 290's and an L500L in my strat, and a set of L465's (presently unavailable) in my Cort MGM-1. I love them. They reproduce the full frequency spectrum, and use low flux magnets for low string pull and no strat-itis.
My duncan humbuckers I loved, but they didn't work in this unusual environment. He has a much smaller operation, so it takes longer to get them. I am very happy with them, and will also go back to using duncans on some guitars if and when I leave this place.

I have a 500XL on the way, so give me a week and I can tell you. Like everyone else will also tell you, order direct from Bill and not from the "fake" Lawrence company.

I love my Bill Lawrence pickup above my SDs, I had a JB in the bridge before I had the L-500XL and it hummed alot. Now since I got the XL I have no humming. I can stand in front of a monitor and not get any humming, I love it. Tone wise its versatile dynamic and crunchy as hell. Try one, you cant go wrong, and for less that an SD its a steal.
