Out of curiosity, did you have any issues finding those, let alone delays on shipping?
Bought a matched quad : $175.
I'm being offered a sweet deal on a Mesa Road King combo but the thought of spending money on all that glass? Maybe 2-3 years ago but now, heeeeeeell no

Only issue was paying double price compared to 6 months ago but i figured since i have the money i'll snag them now as you never know where the political War winds will blow.

Man, I not going to argue prices, but the last time I bought a matched Svet Quad they were around 130 (according to my purchase history online) -and that was 2019 -and if you calculate that Electronic consumer prices have risen everywhere 14-15% and some calculate up to 25% since 2019 -but lets play the smallest calc and that would be 150.00
So you've incurred a $25 penalty due to the embargo etc.....
Not great at all, but it's not too terrible considering we aren't direct importing them at all.
Maybe I over payed in 2019? possible.
Those were my favorite tubes for my JCM800s BTW -you should love them!

Speaking for my own finances i bought a quad from the same seller 1 week before the Ukraine War for $98 shipped and ive been buying from that same guy about 8 years and many others longer.
Last week i paid $180 shipped so no great bargain.
Again i can only speak for myself as random global analytics do not apply to me.
And the reason i bought the $98 quad the week before the War kicked off is because i figured the vacuum tube supply would take a hit and it certainly has.

Well, 98 was indeed a great deal.
even in the 90s, Svets were around 17 a piece unmatched IME
Curious to know your opinion on these EHX redo of Svets.... are they faithful and do you love them?

The one's ive had so far are outstanding. Been using them several years.
Before the Svets it was the Tungsols and they were decent too.
The Svets have a little push in the mids in a Marshall compared to the TS in a good way.
The TS top end can be a wee bit brash but easily dialed out.

Hah, thats similar to my experience in my JCM 800 2204 and 2210 back in the 90s on the original run of Svets. definitely back off treb and presence a little more. Love the mids.

Thats kinda how you can tell when the Svets need replaced when they lose that pushed midrange and the thrill is gone >
