black box or tonelab.

decided to buy a cheapish direct input recording item.
have decided on either the M Audio Black box or The Vox Tonelab.
How are they in terms of recording sound and the amp and cab sims.
Also, for the power, the black box says it uses 9V AC power supply connection.
Is that the standard adaptor for Boss, Ibanez stompboxes.
I live in perth so i need to get the voltage right and the power supply right, otherwise i'd have just wasted alot of money. I'm not sure if i can get the vox tonelab as i will be ordering from online, and the power supply seems to be a specific one for the tonelab. Is the one for the black box a standard 9V adaptor.

Re: black box or tonelab.

The black box one i think is the standard jack pedals use. It comes with one too. With the update it is really good if you don't really need pedals, if you need pedals get the tonelab.

Re: black box or tonelab.

I dont intend on using the effects programed into it, i would rather use my stomp boxes. The only prob with the vox is that it uses a way different power adapter and i can't get one to work with my country.
