black covers for SSL-6 custom?

Probably gonna replace the Duncan Designed SC-101 singles (neck and middle) in my Jackson DK2 with these pups. I've got a PATB-3 in the bridge. Two questions:

1. I've noticed that they only seem to be available with white covers. Where can I find black covers? Or can I use the black covers from my SC-101's?

2. What about a reverse wound for the middle position? I haven't seen these listed anywhere.

My DK2 has a normal 5-way blade switch and I don't plan any special wiring or configuration. This is mainly just an upgrade from the designed pups to real Duncans.

the black covers you have should work fine

you can get rw/rp but few places will have them in stock, so they will probably need to be ordered

Re: black covers for SSL-6 custom?

1.) I have black SD single coil covers available through my website if you need them.

2.) As Jeremy said, they are available RW/RP but there is an upcharge for this service of around $10.00. I don't keep them in stock but I'd be happy to order one in for you.

Re: black covers for SSL-6 custom?

I got my SSL-2 rw/rp and SSL-6 pups today. On the box, there is a notice to only use covers that are made in USA. It says import covers are made to metric specs and can damage the pups. I haven't yet removed my old SC-101's to check for potential problems in re-using the covers. Luckily I will be able to compare the white cover that came with the SSL-6 with the SC-101 covers, but it would be nice to know before I take the old pups out, in case I need to order some new black covers.

Anyone?

Went for it and changed the pups. The Duncan Designed covers fit ok. I will try to find some real SD covers though, there is definitely a quality difference even in the covers.

as long as the cover fits the pole spacing then i wouldnt worry about it. they dont change tone
