Black Ice Boost?

Anyone know what these are? Not the Schottky diode passive distortion that's existed forever, but a new product by the same company. Although someone who doesn't read past the thread title will need to be reminded.

Probably some sort of transformer I assume, trading current for voltage.

Someone on FB said it was a transformer of sorts. I had the passive overdrive or whatever it sucked balls

On paper the boost is for me, it focuses on boosting the mids. I would love something like that for the Dimebucker Strat. They made it clear that the distortion would not sound as good as a pedal, which made me leery of using the boost

I want to like it but I've heard only "meh" reviews of the distortion so I'm skeptical of it.
