Black Winter and Pearly Gates

I'm busy with a project Telecaster, I'm planning on dropping a Black Winter in the bridge and a Pearly Gates in the neck. Is anyone using this combo? Not sure how well they will match. Would love some feedback before putting everything together.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
I can see it working. You'd have a brighter neck sound with a darker bridge, so you'd cover a huge swath of frequencies. If you decide to do this, let us know how it turns out.

Re: Black Winter and Pearly Gates

I have had both the Pearly Gates Neck and the Black Winter Bridge (and neck), but not in the same guitar, so take this as a grain of salt.

If you like a cleaner neck pickup, I can see the combo working.

If you want balance between pickups, I suspect the BW-B would highly overpower the PG-N. The 'winter is REALLY hot.

Re: Black Winter and Pearly Gates

I am a fan of classic PAF/Hot Bridge. I personally dig the PG/Custom combo. I'd be more likely to go with a 59 and a Distortion, so I'd probably roll with that and a Black Winter also. But I don't personally know the BW.
