Black Winters or Nazgul / Sentient???

Hey guys! So I recently bought a Schecter Banshee-6 FR Active, and I'm looking to replace the pickups. I like the EMGs when I'm using distortion but they're okay at best when clean. I hear that both the Black Winters and the Nazgul blow the EMGs out of the water in just about every way. My concern with the Black Winters is that they may be too bright sounding (since it says on the seymour duncan page that they're recommended for warm guitars, and my guitar is Alder bodied with a maple top and Ebony fretboard), though I hear that they're pretty balanced. I play mainly metal like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and some more extreme stuff like Skeletonwitch. I do like my versatility though and like to play jazz every now and then. I've heard that the Black Winters are actually really versatile, and the Nazguls have the Sentient to add versatility to the set. So all in all, which one would you guys recommend?? Thanks! :)

Re: Black Winters or Nazgul / Sentient???

Idk, i feel like the black winters are more of an all rounder, the nazgul and sentient are really ideal for downtuning tho... as they are designed for 7 strings guitars... i personnally would go for the black winters, i have the pegasus sentient set, the sentient has pretty good cleans, but i bet you could get better from the winters as many people seem to rave about how nice they sound... the sentient has good cleans and is pretty good for shredding too, very articulate but still warm... and definitely cuts nicely... go with whatever your gut tells you, either one of the sets should do exactly what you want... and will kill emgs for sure, the 81 is a narsty thin brittle pickup, the nazgul and black winters crush them.

It's good to know that I can't really go wrong with either of these. I think I'm leaning more toward the Black Winters. Thanks!!
