Blackbacks for Lovers

I've got a set of uncovered black "BlackBacks" out of a Heritage 535. The guitar was sold NEW by ER in 2002 (just before Heritage stopped working with him) with these P'ups. They're still in the guitar, and have not been messed with at all. Will preserve lead length.

Not interested in trades anymore.....for sale $120.00 for the pair.

You can see here that they have a smaller logo than standard uncovered SD's

Re: Blackbacks for Lovers

Just wanted to give you guys some information I have about these black backs. I've got a set of them a while back, and as far as my researches have gone, they are a SH-5 Custom Bridge and a SH-2 Jazz Neck, with no difference from the regular ones whatsoever besides the obvious baseplate color and the logo size.

Good luck with the sale.

Based on resistance, that's a fair comparison, if not dead nuts accurate.

Not sure what they are "the same as" but, for sure, they're SD's, they're a set, they've got the smaller logo, they're in great shape, Hot bridge (14.6) and "normal" neck (7.2) Don't know the magnets, but maybe you've dissected a set, Joaocunha??

I just know I want much less heat in my bridge than this set gives. I've got another guitar with similar output, and really want to go "standard" PAF with this axe.

Not invested in anyway whatsoever with ER, or the blackback story. It's what they are, and they're available!

Cheers!

I didn't, unfortunately. Maybe some Duncan geeky could help.

Re: Blackbacks for Lovers

thought I'd follow up on this with some factual info.
Finally got this guitar home and pulled the p'ups.

Roman was once a Heritage dealer, and would occasionally equip his guitars with his "proprietary' p'ups. these, however, are labeled

Here are picks of the backs as they sit in the guitar....Jazz Neck and Custom Custom Bridge

Re: Blackbacks for Lovers

I've always read that's what the Blackbacks were, but I never had any definitive proof until now. Thanks!!:)

Re: Blackbacks for Lovers

Resurrecting this thread...all info from a year and a half ago is identical....except that I finally pulled and replaced these p'ups. They really do sound great. I managed to get great tones despite the higher than desired output of the bridge. I went retro with the guitar, but these, sonically, could have kept me happy a long long time.

But now they sit in bubble wrap on my bench. So who wants 'em? $120.00 for the set. 8" leads...ready to go. PayPal gift and they're out the door!

Re: Blackbacks for Lovers
