Blackface intellifex ....HELP!

I have no idea how to work this thing. I know what bypass, composition(?), and the channel changer is. Anyone have an extra manual for one of these? I'll pay for postage. Or can someone find it online? I'm not sure which one is right. And also, I use a Rolls Midiwizard pedal to change the channels on my Marshall JMP-1... do I have to get a new one to change the channels on the Intellifex? Or can I use the same one? Ahhhhh! I don't know what any of these dials do! What is the bypass jack on the back of the intellifex for?

That will guide you through just as good as the blackface intellifex manuals.

didja check the rocktron site? maybe they have pdf files for d/l ... you can use the same midi controller for both the marshall and the rocktron ... just get a midi cable to go from the midi 'thru' on the marshall to the midi 'in' on the rocktron .. i believe the easiest way to go for starters is to program the effects for 'patch 1' on the effects to be what you want them to be when you use 'patch 1' on the marshall ,... so when you use the foot controller to call up 'patch 1', both units will respond to the right setting

The thing is I don't know which of those is the blackface, and I'd prefer the original manual if someone has one. I got what you're saying about the wiring, but what about the patch 1? Could you say it some other way?

i'll try ... you know how the unit has 'presets' ? .. and they are numbered? .. well 'preset number 1' on the rocktron will have a name ... something like 'arena' or 'shimmerchorus' or something like that ... the jmp1 has presets too, right? ... so when you call up 'number 1' on the jmp 1 (lets pretend it is a massive crunch for heavy metal rhythm parts) .. and lets say you want it to have some wicked flange action on it ... well, you program preset number 1 on the rocktron to be a flanger ... and you name it 'wicked flange' ... then, when you press the footswitch for 'number 1' to come up, the JMP will switch to the massive crunch and the rocktron will switch to the flange that you programmed .... one foot tap / two reactions ... do the same for number 2 preset on both (maybe a hot solo tone on the jmp and a delay with some reverb on the rocktron) .. etc etc

make any better sense?

Yeah. But so you can only have one effect from the intellifex per channel on the JMP-1? Can I reprogramme the intellifex so some of the presets correspond with the channels on my JMP-1? I have no idea how to do that or how to make new channels with the intellifex.

yes
you can reprogram the rocktron that way

about the 'bypass' ... you can use a simple open/close footswitch to plug into that jack on the back of the rocktron and use it to bypass the entire unit (the sound will travel through it without effects)

i actually never heard of the rocktron being referred to as a 'blackface' until this thread ... but as it turns out, my intellifex is a 'blackface' and i have the manual ... i can copy it on tuesday and fax it to you if you like .. its over 50 pages, so too much to scan and email ... let me know (pm) if you want me to fax it or if you want me to mail it

just to compare, i went to the rocktron website and looked at the other intellifex manual pdf files .. the LTD is almost exactly like mine, and will get you most of the way there .. will show you how to reprogram and implement the simple midi you need ... try that first before we go through the hassle and time delay of using the mail/fax option
